Prototype Information:

This Kato EMD SD70ACe with Nose Headlight diesel is based on the high-horsepower road diesel locomotives used in freight service from coast to coast, so this N Scale model will look right at home on your modern-era layout.

Model Information:

Features include a nose-mounted headlight, five-pole motor with dual flywheels, all-wheel electrical pickup, heavy die cast metal chassis, a lighting control board that can be swapped for a DCC decoder when you're ready, available separately, fine decoration, directional LED headlights and Kato magnetic knuckle couplers.

    Beautiful locomotive, Kato really did nice work on this unit. I upgraded to DCC already but found the stock DC boards are in there very tight. Had to take a pair of pliers to the back end of the board to get it out. New DCC board went in with no issues so I think it might be a slightly thicker board rather than the frame. Great locomotive, love the MRL blue!

    Very nice model. Great paint and graphics and a very smooth and quiet unit.

    Bought a few more and they run well together on DC.
