One of the most recognizable and famous UP Steam Locomotives, the FEF-3 'Four-Eight-Four' is recreated in this detailed Kato N Scale model.

Model Features:

• New coreless motor design with dual brass flywheels for silky-smooth performance at all speeds, even slow crawls.
• Special cross-braced shock absorbers equalize the pressure on the locomotive drivers to maximize traction.
• Illuminated headlight and locomotive numberboards. The FEF tender does not have operational lights, but lighting kits are available for the special Water Tender cars, sold separately
• DCC friendly design, allowing for easy drop-in installation of DCC. 

Features include a coreless motor with dual flywheels for silky-smooth side-rod operation at any speed, even a slow crawl, inside bearing wheels where appropriate, and a special articulated undercarriage on the unique, 14-wheel Tender to allow the locomotive to navigate 11" 282mm radius curves.

The FEF-3 is DCC ready to accept the drop-in decoder of your choice, sold separately.
