The most important building in any small town is the local depot. A gateway to the outside world, it was also the first thing a visitor saw when they stepped off the train. As a result, railroads went to great lengths to build attractive stations, painting them in company colors and adding a variety of trim to make the basic structure more handsome.

It's complete with a high platform, nonworking train order signal and platform lamps, luggage, baggage wagon, benches and much more.  Dansbury Depot sits on a staired platform and includes a combination of clapboard and board/batten siding, an intricate door, window styling, benches, a mailbox, station sign, street lamps and more.
