Built in the early 1970s, these 50’ two-bay Airslide hoppers with Barber Roller Bearing trucks featured the GATX ‘Service Driven’ logo. These cars were specially designed with an air-permeable layer inside the bays that could help loosen fine-grained commodities that would often settle en-route, like powdered sugar, thus making unloading easier.
