This ready-to-run N Scale 36' Wood-Sheathed Ice Reefer from Micro-Trains is perfect for your steam or early-diesel-era layout. It's based on wood ice refrigerator cars built beginning in the late 1800s and used into the 1940s.
These ready-to-run cars feature:
- Detailed, injection-molded styrene body
- Fine decoration.
- Free-rolling Delrin trucks with contoured axles,
- Magne-Matic couplers
- Diecast metal underframes or interior weights.
Prototype History
Nye & Nissen was a San Francisco, California corporation which was involved in the purchasing and selling of eggs, butter, and cheese.
This 36’ wood sheathed reefer with Bettendorf trucks was built in 1928 by the Pressed Steel Car Company and advertised 'Fancy Hennery Whites.'
