    The decoder works great, however the LED is not the correct length for the more recent F-7 units made by KATO which means you have to swap the LED from the original board furnished by KATO to the Digitrax board - easy to do and everything works fine. I would recommend this part to everyone installing DCC into the KATO F-7 units, they work great and are a very simple install.

    I have installed three of this model decoder (DN163Kb) and have just ordered another one. They work as advertised. Ease of installation is dependent on the locomotive; all the Kato installations have been easy.
