Great with a few caveats

This was my first DCC system, I am the kind of guy who likes to buy it once and not have to think about it again so this will probably be with me the rest of my life haha.
its a great unit, very easy to set up, pretty easy to work with locos setting them up. I especially appreciate the easy-config option for new loco setup.
the duplex throttle is SUPER nice and works great. everything on it is intuitive and there is built-in help that guides you. Being able to both write AND read CV values is a real plus. Display is bright and easy to read.
i took off one star for two reasons. One being, the connection terminals are absurd. This is a system designed for medium to large layouts and the terminals are super tiny and require a tiny screwdriver to tighten. For something that costs over $500 and likely will have multiple connections, this is a major oversight. Labeling of those ports could also be improved and is not intuitive. Why on earth is the power jack on the front?
The manual is not much better, with certain greyscale diagrams are near impossible to read and the wording isnt always very clear. Luckily, the duplex throttle is *very* easy to use so you dont need to reference it much.

I can't speak too much for the competition as Ive never tried any. I did my research and found this to be the best value for getting the best bang for your buck out of the box, and easy expansion later if I need it.

Had a difficult choosing this or the NES system, my choice was the Digitrax. It’s been really easy to set up and put in service. Very easy to use. Quick Programming to assign a new ID and changing other CVs is a breeze. Consisting is a very easy and adding to the system is as simple as plugging in the new device.
