Bowser introduces a classic Pennsylvania locomotive, the Alco RS-3 “Hammerhead”.  The loco was built by Alco for the Pennsylvania Railroad in December 1953 and was delivered as PRR #8445.  It was equipped with both dynamic brakes and a steam generator.

The Bowser model is as built for the PRR, and includes:

• Can motor
• LED lighting
• Flywheels
• Nickel silver wheels with RP25 flanges
• Knuckle couplers
• Railroad-specific and era-specific body variations
• Many detail parts

The DCC Ready Alco RS3 Hammerhead locomotive features a 21-pin DCC decoder interface for easy conversion to DCC when you're ready (decoder sold separately)**

The DCC/Sound Equipped Alco RS3 Hammerhead locomotive features an ESU LokSound V5 sound and DCC decoder and can operated on DCC and DC (with limited sound features) layouts.**
